Jamie Jocsak, FCIA, FSA

Jamie began his career working in pension consulting for Mercer. In 2007, he created BCH Actuarial Services Inc., a consulting company that provides actuarial legal evidence services to lawyers and clients across Canada. Jamie works full-time in actuarial evidence and has provided expert reports, opinions, calculations, or testimony in several thousand cases across the country since 2007. He is trained in collaborative law and has extensive experience working with lawyers in the context of litigation, collaborative law, arbitration and mediation. Jamie often presents at legal seminars and meetings providing training to lawyers on actuarial topics.

Jamie graduated from Queen’s University with a bachelor of science honours degree in mathematics and has been a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) since 2006. He sat on the CIA’s Actuarial Evidence Committee from 2011–2014 and has been on the ASB’s Designated Group on the Review of Section 3500 (Commuted Values) since 2014 and the CIA’s Committee on Professionalism since 2016. In addition, Jamie has been a presenter at the CIA’s Practice Education Course (PEC) since 2013 on the topic of actuarial evidence and has presented at many CIA meetings and seminars as well as at Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA) on behalf of the CIA .
